I thought it would be neat to have a small scene with a random beetle that wandered into your tower. That scene turned into 4 different reactions. Those 4 reactions turned into another set of choices. One of those choices includes keeping the beetle with you for a time.
You can now name the beetle if you choose one specific option.
This has gotten very out of hand.

First Progress Report on the New Blog!

All my appreciation to everyone who followed Garden of Bones here from the other blog, and if you're new, hello and welcome!
Small update for you: troubleshooting is going VERY well and I'm much happier with this version of the demo! I haven't changed too much aside from the arson branch, but it's simply... better. Especially glad that you will get a few more paragraphs with the servant and the guard - that final scene was a bit rushed.
This was always going to be a built-in way to play with individual choices, but based on your early feedback, a new flag has been added to specifically mark your feelings for MCs who choose to believe U from the beginning or commit fully to the cause. I've been affectionately referring to them as les dévoués while playtesting: the lonely souls and living weapons are seen in this draft.
You can now also find U superficially attractive (or superficially unattractive) outside of whatever choice you make about how to approach your unique relationship. I'm not sure how I'm going to use this information yet, exactly, but I have some ideas...
Update 0.1.2 is almost ready to go live, and hopefully a new intro post will be finished by then, too.

Terms;
MSA = Movement starts at
F(x) = Frame No. (x)
AO = Air Option(s)
FA = First actionable
OHH = On heads hit
OTH = On tails hit
S = Sanity
DMG = Damage
Xbounce = Formula for calculating heads hit on coin landing; (50+S)% chance to hit heads, if not tails.
ROG = Rush of gambling; A meter with 12 slots, some moves fill it up, when you get it to 10 you gain a wish star sticker, which permanently increases sanity by 10 max 3
Xdice = 24 slots, 4 per number ((4 slots for 1,2,3,4,5,6 each)) Rng to get number, based on sanity reallocate slots ((Exact numbers not final))

Finding frequently used words makes me sigh so deeply. It's a different word every time I notice, too. Today it was "faint."
A breeze? Faint.
The thoughts in your head? Faint.
That creak when the door opens? Faint.
Your next pivotal story choice? Fainting, probably.
Currently deleting as many as possible but sometimes it just works, lol. Regardless, to anyone who has been made to read the word faint at least a dozen times in the first draft, I am sorry.
But only faintly.

Bug Fixes!
I didn't have any betas for this update, and found a few typos. Also had some game-breaking bugs pointed out to me which have been resolved!
broken choice in the final chapter (can't sling your weapon like a javelin)
inability to access the codex at the end of the game (sigh)
tried to make some of the choices a bit clearer
typos in various instances of flavour text
the spacing of the codex titles was a bit too much
My apologies to anyone who played the update right away and couldn't access the codex. And thank you so much to the kind player on itch.io who pointed out those errors in a comment on the devlog!
